Eagle Scout Awards

Matthew E. Friedfeld, Troop 27 built over one hundred feet of elevated boardwalks at the trailhead on the White Trail, at the north end of Drexel Avenue. This boardwalk connects the residential community to the White and Blue Trails and also provides a safe path to and from the Eldridge Park School for local families. This location was often impassable due to the wet conditions throughout much of the year. Now through the efforts of Matt and his troop, this area can be safely walked at any time.

Maxwell H. Reitz, Troop 27 created a new trail from the driveway entrance to the Lawrence Nature Center through Drexel Woods in 2012. The Red Trail provides a connection from the informational kiosk on Drexel Avenue to the White Trail, the major north - south trail through Drexel Woods. In addition, Max and his troop built two benches for hikers to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest and installed several tree identification signs on posts along the trail.
